There is a new studio just opened near where I live. But it is Yogalates (yoga and pilates fusion). One of the difference is the way we breathe. In yoga we always breathe thru the nose. In Pilates we inhale thru the nose and then exhale thru the mouth. It was my first yogalates class and I was struggling to do it. Although I easily did all the exercise, I got really tired of the exhaling. 2 hours after class I feel my throat is drying. I also did a couple of research on the internet about the differences. The end result of Pilates is more to the ‘look’ while yoga is more to the ‘feel’ which is more to what I need. Yogalates might work for some people but it is just not for me. 12 months ago
