I have remembered to put some flax in something each day this past week, whether in seed, powder, or oil form. I think I am on my way to making this routine. I try to remember each day to eat something with flax. On one shopping trip I bought cooking oil with added flax oil, oatmeal with flax seed, milled flax seed, cookies with flax seed, and plain organic flax seeds. I still forget sometimes. 3 years ago

I’ve heard that flax seed is especially good for women with PCOS, and also that it’s best to grind it immediately before use rather than store it ground. I have bought a couple packs of the seed and an automatic coffee grinder… which worked perfectly for the seeds, and put it on my cereal this morning.

I’d like to find more information related to PCOS… but it seems to make good sense for now anyway. I have been making up my own mixes for breakfast cereal over the last week in order to avoid refined carbs (and carb cravings within hours of breakfast), and it seems to have been very successful I’m happy to say. Just added flax to the mix today. 3 years ago


Amyflax

This grinder from IKEA works very well for grinding flax seed… it takes a while to grind enough to make egg replacer, but is great for adding flax to meals the same way you’d add salt or pepper. 4 years ago
