    too expensive 2 years ago

During my research I found that it is too expensive for my large family and I would want this to be a family experience. Maybe some other time.

    I recommend... 3 years ago

...The Outlaw Land and Cattle Company. Here is their website:
    www.nbarranch.com
It is in the Gila high country near Silver City, New Mexico. I spent a week there in 1997 and it was an exhilarating experience. No trail rides or guides, and there is NO pampering (read “you’ll be using outhouses”). Every day you will be taking your horse and just “heading thataway” on your own. Be sure to be back by supper and try not to die. Or you can move cattle (which is what I did). That’s eight hours a day in the saddle, and you are WORKING. The place is going to set you back some bucks (it is about twelve hundred dollars a head now) but I promise you that it is worth it COMPLETELY. And I cannot even begin to describe how achingly beautiful the scenery is. Just check out the website and trust me.

    Hey Dude 3 years ago

What no one knows about me is that I’ve wanted to go to a Dude Ranch since I’ve been, oh, 8 years old. I think this may have had something to do with the television masterpiece Hey Dude. However, the dream did not die with the TV show…

Lots of fun. 3 years ago

Plenty of riding and nice scenery. I did get sore from all the riding which surprised me.

    Medicine Bow 4 years ago

Some friends of mine own the Medicine Bow Lodge, which is a dude ranch of sorts. Hopefully I can get up there for a visit soon.

Dude Ranches are Fun! 4 years ago

I went to one up in the Wisconsin Dells, twice actually. I went once when I was about 16, and returned for my 30th birthday. I’ll have to look up the name of it.

Oh, and I even have pictures!
