shouldbeariot is wearing brogues.
Just had my art exhibition opening last night, and was pleasantly surprised when I sold all but 3, with two days more of the exhibit to go.
It’s a wonderful experience.

Drawing and painting are some of the most beautiful things in my life. Unfortunately the city I live in is very small and I don’t have many possibilities to show my works.
This won’t matter for long though :D .. in a year I’ll be living in a biger city where I hope I’ll improve and reach my dream.
great idea and Ive always wanted to exhibit some of my work. Thank god art is subjective,
This is definitely a long term goal for me. My mediums are ceramics and glass. Both lovely mediums.
It will be a long while before I can update to this goal.
Long term goals are the most important, wouldn’t you agree?
you’ve got a serious deadline. people may or may not show. you’re completely stressed out. you hopefully get your pieces done in time and throw it up on the wall. catch your breath, gulp some wine. . and here come the people. They want you to tell them about your work. You’ve just spent months. . maybe years with these pieces and now you’ve gotta justify their existance.
Honestly, i find the whole process exhausting. . .kinda like a wedding. . lots of work, high expectations, lots of people that you want to spend time talking to – but there’s just too many. Bless ‘em, they came to support you and seem genuinely interested in your work, but. ..
you know what i think it is? It’s just a little too much about the artist and less about the work on the walls. When my work’s up I want it to speak for its self. Or maybe i only want it to speak to me.
I am talented, theres no question…it’s something I’m born with. I haven’t done any work in a long time..how can I expect results if I don’t paint?
well, I have gotten a gallery to agree to my show, agreed a date (18th April) and now need to finish some works to go in it. It is digital art and photography and currently I have about 6 works in progress that might end up being suitable. Aiming for 24. And will offer ltd ed prints (upt to 25) of each. What do people think? Anyone done somthing similar? I am excited and scared…
In order to make this happen anytime soon, I would have to put various other projects (which I value more) on hold in order to actually, you know, do art.
File under “someday, but not soon.”
Okay, there’s no way I’m going to finish these by the end of October. I’m not willing just to finish them at any expense, including lessers piece of work than if I were just to work steadily on them. I’m committed to the projects—October will be a very productive month, and because of that, they’ll get finished. Soon. (Just not in a month.)
I’m a professional artist so I do this often. In my opinion, being in exhibition brings the creative process of your work full circle. It allows you the opportunity to share your work with others and to interact with viewers about your work on many valuable levels.

mignonm asks,
“Any advice on how unified the works should be? How many? Should I offer prints? Pricing advice. How to get people to come to the show???”
