    my grandmother was born in north korea and left behind her entire family and was cut off from them when north and south korea severed ties at a pretty young age. I want to go there and look up her family roots and see if I still have any relatives there.

    Not worth it!

    Although the memories of my trip to North Korea did change me, there has been such extreme famine recently that it’s not worth going now. Visit Albania instead.
