grow bonsai

For my birthday present several years ago I asked for a bonsai tree. My mom and I went to a nursery and shopped for a good beginner tree. I came home with ficus and an addiction. Later I went to the home improvement store and bought some small ficus trees that were meant for regular house plants and trained them into bonsai. I thought that if they survived then I’d delve a little further. They survived and now I’m moving on to bigger and better things! I now have a pre-bonsai contoneaster and pre-bonsai japanese maple. Growing and maintaining the trees is a bit tricky but I find that designing and achieving a beautiful shape is the toughest part. It definitely calls for some creativity! Nevertheless, I’ve had a lot of fun growing bonsai! My goal is to become better at it!
