I would really love to break into grantwriting. I think it would be amazing to be able to write proposals that could bring in hundreds of thousands (okay, high goal, but that’s what you’ve gotta aim for!) of dollars for a worthwhile organization that needs it. I’ve met some grantwriters at various jobs I’ve had, and they all seemed to love what they do. Even if it wouldn’t be my full-time professional, I would still love to pick up the skill, and have it at my disposal for future positions. As soon as I’m employed, might pick up a book on it. Or better yet, enroll in a class at a community college. I feel I’ve got the writing skills down. Now I just need the “please donate money to our org. for x, y, and z reasons” skill set.
