I used to do yoga once a week in the classes at the gym. Then I got busy and stopped going. I need to put it back on my calendar and go for a month straight to make it routine.

how much this will actually enhance my martial arts. I haven’t done yoga in so long now (blah blah injury blah blah) that I am very stiff and tight. I have been trying to perfect my front forearm snap, and for that you need to be very loose and relaxed. Even though it is getting better and I can pull a nice one off every once in a while, I think doing the yoga would help me be able to loosen my muscles to do it right more consistently.
Hmmmm. Veddy veddy interesting…

I had slacked for about four months before picking up yoga again. It took my insistent housemate to get me doing yoga regularly again. Now we are practicing 3-4 times a week in our house to Rodney Yee’s “Strength” DVDs. Hurrah! Eventually I’ll sucker him into going to an actual class.

Mary M. is learning seeking comfort in solitude.
Twice per week
I learned today from my occupational/physical therapist friend a few things about yoga yesterday:
1. They often heat the room because it loosens your muscles and allows you to push yourself further.
2. This is good for your muscles—stretching is great.
3. This is only good for your muscles if you do yoga 2+ times per week. Otherwise, it can be harmful.
Yoga, heated or not, is best at 2+ times per week.
So for me, “regularly” now means at least one class per week, and at least one time per week at home.

rwb99 is taking work too seriously.
Let’s try again to do yoga regularly. I tried the yoga routine, and (as always happens) the phone rang halfway.
But I kept going, and completed the yoga tape. Let’s see if I can keep this up for the rest of the week.
