update resume

this was easy

I know I need to do it. I have a link to a website in my favorites for a template. I am totally not interested but I want to be able to just press “send” the day I realize I might not pull into the parking lot for work one morning. I do not want to advertise any more for Walmart. I do not want to help them sell anything.I want to work for a non profit group and make them money instead. I understand this is a career change, so a resume needs to be worked on and tweaked over some time.

Right now im not happy at my current job. I dread going to work,everyday. I need to get my self back out there and find something that would be more fufilling. Hence I need to update my resume to attract better employers.

I didn’t know I wanted to do this, but something happened where I was led to do it, now that it is done I feel sooo empowered & decided to add it to my 43 things just so I could mark it DONE!

Okay… so now I have help. The next step is mine.

1. Review what she sent me. Make comments, additions. Send it back. Do it today! Tuesday

I took a few minutes this afternoon and got it updated, something I haven’t done since April 2005. It’s done now though, and ready just in case!

I think everyone who knows I’m unemployed thinks I’ve updated my resume and am sending it out. I haven’tI’m having a really hard time listing my abilities, accomplishments, etc. because I feel (sob) like there are none. My last job and being jobless now were real blows to my self-esteem.

Whatever. It doesn’t matter what my resume is like if I never send it out. Worst case, It doesn’t get me an intereview.

Today I will work on this for two hours and also come up with a new cover letter template. Tonight OR tomorow morning I will send it out to 5 to 10 generic jobs ( the kind I don’t really want am qualified for) as test runs. Each time I send it out I will spend another 10 minutes improving it.
Once I start to find more jobs I am actually excited about I know I will be motivated and in the groove enough enough to ace those apps

i’ve been in a rut for months now. I just updated my resume an I’m looking forward to new job prospects.

I encourage folks to push through what ever is holding them back and update your resume. I found that while I currently have a job, updating the resume is much less stressful than when I did not have one. If you think you ought to just put of updating your resume until you NEED to….stop. Just update it and start posting.
