upgrade my wardrobe.

An inventory has been done now, and it seems that currently I own 21 bags and purses, a lot of polka-dotted clothes, black is still somewhat dominant but other colours have made their way into my wardrobe – namely white, red, pink (+light pink) and blue (and I used to swear never to wear anything blue!) – and my underwear collection is far more extensive than I had thought. Despite all this, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need more dresses. Not just any kind of dresses, but pieces that will help me achieve that certain 50s pin-up feel to my style more easily. For a while now nothing has inspired me (style-wise) as much as the eras from 20s to 60s, and I’ve tried to incorporate bits and pieces from those eras to my clothing and overall style as much as possible. Ultimately I wish to build a wardrobe mostly based on the 40s and 50s fashion, with a few more contemporary pieces as well – just in case and for certain convenience. ;) This is not impossible, it just takes time (and money!), and I’m prepared for that. I’ve always loved beautiful clothes and I like ‘dressing up’, it’s never tedious to me, most of the time very enjoyable – only when I’m in a hurry do I sometimes wish I was a little bit less of a perfectionist!

Internet is a great friend, for living in Finland the shops that carry clothes and accessories that I’d wish to buy are scarce and the prices high. Online shopping is a little too easy these days, and highly addictive, too! How am I supposed to resist all the pretty dresses, not to mention skirts, blouses and various kinds of accessories… it’s torture, and I’m weak. ^{Deep down I love it though.}

I need to get back to this goal soon but here’s the thing: I have a clear image of the kind of wardrobe I want and I believe I’ve found my style. I’ve already succeeded in partly revamping my wardrobe but there is still work to do and I do feel something’s missing. This is a work in progress, so to speak!

So much so my cousin told her mom who bought me a top that I needed no more clothes. That’s not true though :) but I’ve and I still am morphing into my own style and I feel comfortable and I like and enjoy it. I had even done some drawings of new work outfits, but I’ve held back on getting them made after I resigned from my job. I’ll wait to see what my new job’s like and see if they are still appropriate and then back to the upgrading :D

-1 pair of boots i really love
-1 really warm and still cute hoodie from american apparel
-1 “crush” hoodie that i adore
-1 set of gym clothes and i’m getting some today

a crush item for me is something you really like sort of need. it’s cute but still functional not just cute or not just functional. i plan on making a list of things i want in my wardrobe then upgrading the things i already have so that i make smart purchases instead of just impulse purchases. getting quality items for more instead of a lot of items that don’t mean much for less.

I WANNA CHANGE MY STYLE!!

to do this piece by piece and just purchase random stuff every once in a while so I won’t be as a financial burden if I do otherwise.

So I got these new HOT shinny black pumps with open-toes front. A blue tube, long top, yellow leggins and a red top. I gonna alternate between work and casual clothes each time I think.

I’m getting nowhere really fast with this one. Maybe after the holidays, with some Christmas money, I can work on this one.

I have been shopping and picking up things here and there. Things like a coat and jacket, shoes, a few handbags, and a few accessories. I can say that this is basically something I do on a regular basis. Very worth it!

Janice, a good friend of mine encouraged me to raid her wardrobe after a tiff with my most beautiful fiance . I aquired a gorgeous green summer dress (something I would necver buy), two skirts one business the other casual, 2 tops, one blue very pretty one and the other a house one. I am so blessed , it was great :)

I still feel I would like more shoes and 2 winter jacket and a jumper or two, but I am not really attached to it.

I am learning how to sew !! And I hope this means I will have lots of beautiful things to clothe myself in and that it will be in line with my ethics :)
