Just have to sew on the frogs for Mason and do the finish work on Madison’s sweater and complete the skirt.
11/5/09: Update: I forgot to mention sewing up the seams and weaving in ends on Mason’s sweater. That’s done. Frogs are not on yet. Haven’t touched Madison’s skirt. Unsewed the badly sewn seam on Madison’s sweater. Knitted 5 scarves for the neighborhood kids.

Well, I’ve done some on this. Started the seams, which look terrible but at least it is something. Now I’ve found someone here who says she can teach me to do it properly. So I’ve got to give her a call and get lessons. And work on the wrap to get it finished. And buy a new set of needles to replace the ones I somehow lost!

Still working on it. Really wish I’d picked it back up earlier so it would be done before I go. As it is, I’ve fixed the front and back and have blocked them again. I should be able to sew the seams tomorrow and maybe do the ribbing along the front. It’s the wrap that is worrying me now. I can finish all the knitting part at home but was counting on my sister to crochet the last bit. Will have to figure that out at some point. My plan is to commit to knitting 2 rows min per day. It’s going to need over 70 rows so that will take awhile but I may do more on some days.

I almost gave up on this. Had a terrible day last week, and then went to the knitting store for advice, which didn`t go well. I left feeling completely demoralized and like giving up. After a really rough couple of hours and much support from my sister, I felt a bit better and picked up where I left off. Have now finished the collar, both sleeves and the front and back. Unfortunately, the front and back require repair but I will start that tonight or tomorrow and then shouldn`t take long. On the plus side, I`m learning quite a bit from this project.

I have a terrible habit of getting almost to the finish line, and then stopping. I have been working like a demon on this sweater for the past two weeks and am almost done. And I can feel this familiar feeling setting in – the dragging of the feet, losing interest, maybe I`ll do it later.
I`m determined not only to finish this but finish it quickly. Even just writing this helps. I blocked the main sweater pieces last night and they are still drying. I`ll have to lay them out better so they can dry but in the meantime… I can get started on the collar.
Just writing this has definitely made me feel more motivated and energized. Off to knitting!

Betani is getting reaquainted with this site.
Close call when I ran out of yarn. Found some more, and getting ready to continue.

I made a total mess of the original sweater for this goal. I picked something way too advanced for me, unfortunately. I have, however, started a cotton lace boat-neck sweater, and I’m determined to knit it to completion!

I’ve decided that I don’t like the yarn for this sweater, and that it’s far too bulky to wear. It sat for a very long time so I’ve finally frogged it and moved on.
I’ve started other projects I like better :)

Finally! It’s so satisfying to be done. My fiancee loved it too. :-D

Gradually this is coming together. I’ve found that if I leave it in the middle of the livingroom floor it’s always in sight, so I pick it up and work on it a little now and then. If it was put away neatly in a closet or something it would never get done.
