Do I really want to become a senator? You cannot play in dirt without getting dirty yourself, right?
And for the hell of it, I’m attaching a picture of downtown St. Petersburg, FL. I took it today as I was flying around a little. 3 years ago

I have been actively involved in politics someway or another. I have lobbied the Texas Legislature at an early age and even been to conferences in other countries in regards to democracy. I am a great speaker who can connect with my audience. Although I am Republican, my main concern would be my constiuents. In the Student Government at my University I was the type of person who would put my differences aside to vote on what my constiuents wanted, unless they weren’t educated on the facts, then I would have to vote for the things that would improve their college experiences. Fellow student senator would ask me to back their bills because people liked me and I was usually able to bring people together to vote a certain way.
It’s something I want to do and I know it will take time and effort, but that is something I am willing to do! 5 years ago

It would be so incredible if I was offered the opportunity to become a U.S. senator. I would take advantage of it and try to get on the Environment and Public Works congressional committee. I would also try and better social policies and many social programs in whatever state I end up living in. I think that I would be able to do alot of good in this position of power. There are so many crooked politicians out there I only pray that however far I get in my political career will be due to my strong morals rather than a desire for political power and wealth. Many politicians go into politics with that same mantra, and fall to their adversities in the end. I feel like I have a good head on my shoulders and that my concerns for the greater good of the population will keep me headed in the right course. 5 years ago

I’ve been planning this since I was sixteen. Thus far I’m on a few state boards, and contemplated a run for my state house earlier this year (even had an exploratory committee together)... I have no doubt I’m going to accomplish this goal- however I think that my priority should also be to ensure that I am completely ready.. that I have the rest of my life in order. Until then, I’ll keep chugging away at state boards and committees and work on the governors campaign.
I don’t think this is an unrealistic goal at all, unfortunately because of the state of campaign contribution requirements in America many will believe that.. but its totally possible! 7 years ago

I figure I am headed in a political direction, why not set a lofty goal. I think it would be awesome to be a part of the legislative process in an influential way. I want to take more public speaking classes and get over any lingering fears first. 8 years ago
