Well I didn’t make the deadline. There just wasn’t enough time. I did read enough to have important background fresh in my mind when the final book come out. I will continue re-reading this series at my leisure. Thank you to J. K. Rowling for a most enjoyable tale! 4 years ago
I was unable to re-read book 6 before the final book came out. I had run out of time. :( So I’m hoping to re-read the whole entire series again, now that I own all 7. And there’s not much of a time limit this time, so less pressure… :) 4 years ago
In Poland it comes out in January, so this should be quite easy and enjoyable goal :) 4 years ago
I was trying to reread all of the books before I read the last one so that everything would be fresh in my mind. After a week of having the new book I couldn’t resist anymore. I got all the way up to about half way through order of the phoenix. Maybe next time another movie comes out I will reread them all over again because they are amazing books and everytime I see new things and insights that I hadn’t seen before. I just need to give myself more time to read them. I’ve got a couple chapters left in book 7 and then I’m on to my adult book list! 4 years ago
i cheated a little, and didn’t reread the first two. buuuut, i’m so glad i reread “half blood prince”! 4 years ago
I got through Books 1-5, but I couldn’t find the 6th one. I didn’t have enough time to read it anyways, so I read the wikipedia entry on it before reading the last book. 4 years ago
OK, so I didn’t quite make it in time, but I finished Half-Blood Prince Saturday afternoon and finally got to read the first 160 pages or so of Deathly Hallows yesterday. 4 years ago
I’m about 150 pages from the end of book 6 so I should finish it tonight or tomorrow…I haven’t bought book 7, still debating whether I will borrow my friend’s copy (she’ll probably finish this weekend as well) or buy my own while it’s still at 40% off in the stores. Eventually I want to have all 7 books in hardcover—if I buy 7 now I’ll only have 3 and 4 left to get in hardcover. Either way I should be reading Book 7 within a day or two!
So I didn’t actually get this goal finished BEFORE the launch of #7—but considering that I’m only just now reading #6 for the first time, I’d call it an improvement! 4 years ago
What a wonderful experience!
So this weekend I am going to see Order of the Phoenix and I am rewatching all of the movies up until that point.
I suggest rewatching the movies too for everyone who just read the books, you will notice things you never noticed before, and be overcome by alot of emotions while seeing those “special” characters.
Trying really hard not to spoil it for anyone, but those of you who have finished and start rewatching the movies will know just what I mean. 4 years ago
didn’t dooo it. =[
But numero 7 was amazing.
sooo sadd that its all over now tho. =[ 4 years ago
i went away before the last book came out and took the last two books with me. i finished reading them and go the new one when i came back. and the best part, i wasnt spoiled. or tempted to go online since there were no computers. 4 years ago
Because of work and baby illness and whatnot, I’m still stalled around page 450 of Half-Blood Prince, and sadly, Deathly Hallow spoilers abound just about everywhere—so much so, that despite all my best efforts, I more-or-less have a basic gist thus far as to what’s going to happen.
However, I’m still quite looking forward to the satisfaction and enjoyment of it all! 4 years ago
I completely re-read all 6 books prior to the release of book 7. When I received my copy of book 7 at 12:30 Saturday morning I settled in all weekend to finish the book and have finally finished the whole series. Harry Potter is an amazing series and book 7 was a great way to end the series. Very sad, but still brilliant. 4 years ago
My boyfriend and I went to a Harry Potter midnight party at last night…
I got home around 1:30am…
and finished the book at 7:54am.
I tried to sleep once, but was so hyped up I couldn’t do it. So I just kept going.
It’s pretty much amazing.
I like it. :)
But I shan’t say any more, to avoid spoiling it for anyone. 4 years ago
Finished :) Just in time too! Now waiting for my copy of the latest book to arrive in the mail :) 4 years ago
And just in the nick of time: 30 mins before the book is released in Australia :) 4 years ago
One to be released! So I’ve done this! Yay! I loved reliving the magic. :) 4 years ago
I finished HP and the Half-Blood Prince over the weekend so now I’m all ready for the last (sob!) book to come out. 4 years ago
Not much time now! Ooh its out on Saturday. I’ve finished Prisoner of Azkabahn and am now beginning Goblet of fire, still got chamber of secrets as well. Went in a totally random order. 4 years ago
I’m probably not going to finish Half-Blood Prince by midnight tomorrow. However, this will give my wife plenty of time to read the final book while I finish number six. 4 years ago
Halfway through HBP and this morning, my class was buzzing with talk of the leakage. A guy even took photographs or something from his computer screen and has all the pages .. argh! Why oh why? These are terrible, terrible people who have spoiled (fake or not) and it’s against J.K Rowling, such heretics. 4 years ago
