Did this all the time when I was a kid, and I can still do it now as an adult. No big deal.

mejaka is on the preferred substitute list--for Project. Weird.
I could ride from home to school or out to the Bird Farm (a local point of interest in my little hometown) without ever touching the handlebars, if I didn’t have to brake hard.
I could brake easy (slow down for a turn) and make turns without holding on.
As an adult I have tried and can only go a few feet, but if I practiced I’d be back to it before long.
Right now, however, I’m not riding at all, thanks to the huge mistake of Biking With Dog and the knee injury that resulted.
I had hands but the bike didn’t.
Seriously tho this is easily achieved.

Remember the movie “Breaking Away”? The lead character so admires the Italian cycling team that he feigns the accent. He zips down the streets of Bloomington , no hands, singing opera. O.K. he was a big fake but it seemed very liberating. If I could find a smooth patch of pavement in my town perhaps I too could “O Sole Mio” “Look Ma , no hands!” But for now, I’m still holding on…...
