How to I want to write a book by hummingbirdchen

"I'm so pleased I stuck with it; now I'm writing my second novel!"

How I did it: I just sat down and did it! Every day, even when I didn't feel like it. I typed on average 2000 words a day, which is surprisingly easy when you get used to it. As I wrote I would read it aloud to my boyfriend, who was annoyingly picky about things I had missed out or forgotten, or hadn't explained properly. I'm grateful now, but at the time I got a bit snippy with him, I admit!
Now I've joined a writer's forum, and that has been so very helpful with my second novel. I wish I had found the forum earlier, when I was writing the first one - it would have turned out even better.

Lessons & tips: - write the book you'd like to read
- write everyday, even when you don't feel like it
- try to set a goal of a minimum amount of words each day
- when you write the first draft, don't be a perfectionist. You can always go back and change it later
- join a writer's forum. I joined Absolute Write and it is a great community

How I did it: i just wrote, i put a few good ideas down on paper and threw the rest onto the computer. it was really easy. don't try to set the bar too high though. i chose something i thought was fun. i liked magic and adventure books, so i just remembered what i liked about those books.i liked the comedy and mystery behind it all. it really is easy, just remember you don't have to impress anyone, just make sure you like it.my book wasn't published, b… Read how I did it…

    i want to write a book that would enchant those who read it, but of course, im a long way away from being a good writer. im a good reader, but not so good when it comes to writing. i read new books every two to three weeks. the longest time ive been without reading a book was five days!!

    I’ve always felt the need to write. I have a way with words, people tell me; they tell me—sometimes as a compliment, other times with a strange tone, that I have a unique vision. Anyway, I’ve never really written much outside of school and work, but I look for opportunities and influences to change that.

    I do have an idea now that seems personal and powerful. I’d really like to see if I can work with that.

    Ok so ive started Im a good way through, done about 40,000 words but i’ve lost inspiration on this one a bit so i’m just leaving it to rest for a while and I’ll probably pick it up at a later date when the writers block stops!
