when I lived in N.O. and didn’t have a car and walked everywhere or took the streetcar I was desperate for a vehicle. i felt so limited without a car and now i think it would be so liberating to not need one to go everywhere….

Nearly done moving in. So far I love being able to walk everywhere I go again. I still haven’t had the time to take full advantage of the neighborhood yet, but I am really looking forward to doing so after things settle down over the next feww weeks!

I realized that all the places I generally like to go are located in the same area. Since I don’t really care much for my current apartment, I’ve decided to move to a place that’s within a 5-minute walk to all my favorite places. I found the apartment, now I’m just going though some hassle trying to get it.
I love this city. It’s well known for its individual neighborhoods—each are perfect and have everything you need. I live within 1 block of 3 Chinese restaurants. WIthin 4 blocks, there are 2 grocery stores. Within a couple more than that, there are several little produce markets. There’s my bank and a strip of restaurants all within 10 blocks, and even a movie theatre too?
Did I mention that I live less than 2 blocks from Golden Gate park and 4 blocks from the beach?
It’s worth doing! I think that it’s good for you, and the environment.
I like being able to get things, and then walk along the sidewalks leisurely looking at things, enjoying my surroundings. :-)
I have more adventures.
fourkeeps is getting things done, not slacking
When I move to a different city, I plan on living in a city where I can walk everywhere. I currently live in a city where there are all kinds of transportation. There are also many stores too.
