become a beekeeper

ok.. got them last night .. two NUCs (nucleus hives)
came home.. there were ready to swarm !!
I think I caught them in time…
seem to be doing OK…. fed them and etc..

I get them June 1

OK .. got the suit and smoker, getting hives in a week or so.. painting them, then bees June 1st !

weird coincidence, there is a young woman originally from ICELAND in class

i will be volunteering with the beekeeper at my workplace, angelic organics learning center, in the spring. and will be signing up for a beekeeping workshop in april. i am so looking forward to getting started!

This is a piece of burr comb that I had to pull out when I placed the 10th frame that I had to leave out when I installed the bees :)

I’ll take the bee course this coming Spring.
buying the equipment over the Winter, but selecting the site this Fall (to allow for some Sun, some shade, out of the way, etc)
