This is so random, but I think this would be fun. It’s nice to do something different for your friends.

I am planning this!  — 4 months ago

I am planning a tea party for me and 5 of my closest friends. I have been looking up recipes, ideas and everything to host the cutest tea party and it will be a great opportunity to see all my closest friends at one time.
Thanks for reading,

Quite the success!  — 5 months ago

Worth doing!

I had my tea party this afternoon. The first thing I can cross off my recently developed “Things I Want to Do Before I Die” list! There were 11 of us, and it was such a lovely afternoon. I served three different kinds of tea, two different kinds of scones, and gingerbread cake with a lemon sauce. My friends brought brie and crackers, grapes, biscotti, and cucumber sandwiches. The ACC championship was on, so we watched it at a low volume while enjoying tea. :)

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve gone to a few different thrift stores to obtain some teacups and saucers. I found some great pieces for very cheap, and I also found a beautiful lace tablecloth. A good friend recently suggested that a good way to do a first tea party would be to ask everyone to find a used teacup and matching saucer to bring and leave with the hostess. Or to bring and give away to someone else. I’m very excited to have the odd and end ones that I found, though, so that I can do this again. I’d be just as happy with mugs, though, too.

Worth doing!

Whether you pack a picnic and take a hike, or help put on a fancy dress ball with all the finger food “of the sort one wouldn’t have to take off her 18-button glove to enjoy” or comes to visit SF where there are a couple of women who’ve combined their antique business with a formal tea shop (if you like that tea-cup, or that comfy Victorian couch, for love and mere money you can take it home with you), there is nothing more delightful than Tea.

Just finished hosting my first real tea party, and my guests and I had so much fun. I am so glad I thought of it, although next time, I’m going to try my hand at making real petit-fours. The hats were fabulous and the conversation was priceless. A terrific way to show appreciation for the friends that mean so much.

Kicking off a new tradition on Valentine’s Day to show appreciation to my friends. Tea is my newest hobby; I’ve finally managed to dip my foot in the waters of something besides plain Lipton, and I’m pleasantly surprised. Chocolate caramel chai is my new favorite.

How do you have a tea party when you’re in law school and so are all of your friends? We have so little free time, nad I live so far away from everyone else. I’m not sure how this will work.

Half Birthday  — 1 year ago

Worth doing!

Well i celebrated my half birthday with a great tea party. I made cookies and special bread pudding as well as having some hot filo’s and strawberry sponge cake. Was so yummy! Also had some great tea called Tea for Sunday (bits of vanilla in it, very very good!).

Was a great way to spend the afternoon and a good excuse to get the antique tea set out!
