Take the bus to work every day

Definitely worth the effort! 2 years ago

Taking the bus as often as possible, even though I usually can’t take it every day, is definitely worth the effort for the additional time available for reading, napping, listening to music, observing weirdos and occasionally surfing the Internet. I am moving soon, and in my new location I will have a rapid public transit system and no car, so I look forward to continuing to enjoy public transportation and my reading/napping time.

Dead car = bus 2 years ago

Having come back from vacation to find my car completely dead, I ended up taking the bus for a couple of weeks until I was able to have a friend revive the battery. This was great because I had no choice but to take the bus every day! This helped rebuild it into my routine, so I hope to continue that.

Need to get back into gear 3 years ago

I have done a terrible job here lately. And after watching the Al Gore movie, I realize I really have no excuse. I have been driving to work due to my gym schedule, but as soon as that can be cut down (less than two weeks), I am going back to taking the bus every day.

Sigh. 3 years ago

This had to be the worst week ever. I give myself a 0/10. I was super busy both at and outside of work and ended up driving every day so that I could get to the gym, run errands, and stay late (but not all at the same time). Next week I am out of town a couple days, but as soon as I get back, I am calling Sound Transit to reserve me a seat on the 545. I shall overcome.

Week 3: :( 3 years ago

This was a bad week for bus riding. Do I get penalized if I was sick and didn’t take the bus because I didn’t go to work…? I drove two days, once for an early training class & once for a dinner with a friend who has no car. Hopefully this coming week will be better – I have a lot of early interviews.

Week 2: 4/5 3 years ago

I could explain the one by saying my old intern was in town from Ireland & I needed to meet her for lunch so I wanted my car…but I think I could have figured out a way around it. The reality is that I was running late anyways that morning.

Bus timing 3 years ago

can be tricky. I missed the bus yesterday, and realized I was going to have to wait for a half hour…I almost went home & drove, but I stuck it out. I went to the post office for some 2-cent stamps instead and then came back for the next bus.

Week 1 Down 3 years ago

Car in the shop is a good way to force this. I took the bus to work & home every day this week, except today, since I have to pick it up after work.

Starting this week... 3 years ago

I am forcing myself to start this tomorrow since my car had to go into the shop today. I am hoping this will kickstart my goal.

I probably started the bus trend 3 years ago

I was the first person EVER to use the bus to go to work. EVER. No one had ever even HEARD of the bus. Except possibly the driver.
