thriftDrove down for the fourth of July
Driving down route 1 takes a while, because the speed limit is pretty low most of the way, especially near the endangered deer.
The environment does have interesting features though. Many times you can see the water on each side of the road and there are other interesting places like the Florida Everglades. The 7 Mile Bridge was very interesting and we stopped at a beach right after the bridge that while I bit rocky was pretty cool.
Also there are many fun places to stop on the way down. We went to Key West, but on the way back we stopped at Big Pine Key to go Canoing out to No Name Island and it was definately worth it. Also there was a restraunt in Islamadora that was really good for the prices…Can’t recall the name though.
Having the car was also nice for general Florida exploration, Miami was beautiful, Orlando was fun, and Fort Myers was worth stopping by as well. 5 years ago
