visit my parents more

the whole family together except my sister. Everyone loved N and he was not as nervous as I had feared. My brother especially liked him which meant so much to me.

My mother recently got dentures on the top and she is suffering quite a bit. Our biggest fear is that she will refuse to wear them at night the way the dentist told her to and that she will bite through the extraction sites in the night. She won’t wear them during the day at all since her mouth is so sore.

My grandfather made his dentures look like a very easy process, he would just pop them in and out. I guess he was more used to them. My poor mother. I hate to see her in so much pain.

Other than that, everything proceeding as normal and I have not been doing well on this goal. I don’t see them every week and I should try more. I do phone them more.

was Thursday. We all got together Wednesday night. Cake, flowers, gifts, nice dinner. Wonderful evening. Now my parents are vacationing in Arkansas until Monday.

and they were busy. They just picked out their new furniture and the new carpet is being put in. Not a good time to descend upon them. I think they were afraid that I wanted to come visit but they had their hands full with the carpet layers working in the house.

helping my parents clear out the attic. Went through old Christmas ornaments and cleaned. My back is sore.

We ate Dad’s homemade chili and cornbread. It was yummy.

They let me help. It was so nice.

They cooked a pot roast and gave me half. It was really nice. We are still eating it. They got their hot tub repaired and it is working now. No way am I ever getting into that thing. I worry that they will injure themselves climbing in and out of that thing. Especially at night. They are working on a privacy fence, too.

My sister came over and she looked really fat.

I have tried to visit them once a week. Today I was able to get N to go with me, and he met them for the first time. I think we had a wonderful visit.

There was only the unfortunate rant from my father about gun control, but other than that, a pleasant visit.

My mother complimented N on his intelligence and good looks, which made me feel good.

There was no toilet paper in their bathroom.

I did go to the grocery store for my mother today! Maybe that is a “baby step”.
