I don’t really have a problem calming down, I’m pretty laid-back, but my brain is constantly going. I think this is why I talk all the time, it’s because I’m always thinking about something else.
I’ve realized though, that this sort of perpetual multitasking takes a toll on my productivity. Trigonometry homework takes much longer when half of my brain is reviewing last night’s episode of Monk. I feel that meditation would help me focus on just the task at hand, and thus boost my productivity, which will be important if I am to do well in college.
I also have hopes that meditation will improve, or help me to improve, my life overall.

I have been wanting to meditate for more than two years now. This year I went through a bad patch, and finally decided that enough was enough, I must take control of my life.
So I went and signed myself up for these home study lessons Like they have suggested,I have been trying to do a lesson a week.
My Goal: Meditate for fiteen-twenty minutes a day in the morning everyday. And if possible (they say I should should)a fifteen minutes session in the evening also =]
I am not very religious, and my reasons for doing meditation are not all the same as the Organisation’s, so sometimes I disagree with some of the things they say, and sometimes I find some of the things funny.
That makes me worry if God would not like it; but then I guess its okay. He wants us to have fun too while learning to get closer to him :)

for a couple mos I was meditating every night before bed. I was able to go off sleeping pills and became calmer, but then lots of sad memories would enter my thoughts when I got quiet, so I stopped meditating because the sad thoughts were too much and I started taking the sleeping pills again.
But last night I meditated with a guided cd and it was good, I slept well too. I want to train my brain to reach the theta state when I am almost able to leave my body. I was able to do this sometimes before the memories became overwhelming.

after "M" day

I did my tai chi the day after my last entry. It felt great, then I got caught up in my wedding day! It’s over and now is the time to start the good habit of staying calm!! (smile)

Reiki circles
Go to meetup.com or search “reiki circle (your zip code)” on google to find a Reiki circle. They’re either free or cheap (mine was $10) and it’s a great way to put you in a deep meditation. And the people practice Reiki on you! Keep trying out these circles until you find one that is a good match for you. If you’re in one of these circles, there’s no way you can avoid meditating.

I taught meditation but yet I lost the time to do it like I should.

Meditation makes me happier, calm, and focussed throughout the day. It also seems like when I meditate I notice and observe things in finer detail. My awareness increases. Ideas come easier. When I was in a bad mood for a whole week, I meditated in Yoga class, and then my bad mood was gone. Now I’m not in Yoga anymore, but I’d like to keep up with it. I’ve downloaded a few audios of guided meditation, which I like the most.

I always wanted to meditate on a regular basis, something like half an hour every morning – nothing fancy, but just focusing on deep breathing-in and breathing-out. Thank you for the good and practical advices and suggestions. I think I will start from tomorrow morning, maybe just 5 minutes around 6:30 a.m. as a starting point. Wish me good luck.
