How to start my own blog

How I did it: First I looked at other peoples blogs to see how they did there blogs. Then I searched for a site that I could start blogging on. I found one and set my blog profile up. How I did it: I enjoy reading blogs and finding inspiration from them so i just went on the ones i liked, looked at what blog site they used and went with blogger.comand made one. its not the best, but its more for me (selfishly) and im learning the ropes still so yeah. How I did it: I started my blog across several sites (blogspot and wordpress.com) finally settling on jhost.com to host my blog (www.lawrencejhughes.com) - I used godaddy.com to secure the domain and then had the DNS entries in godaddy switched to point to my hosted site at jhost.comJhost allowed me to use wordpress and to manage different themes. I set up my own blog but need to devote time and energy to build the content. Also, to setup time to update it. I also need to outline the objectives/purposes for the blog vs. random thoughts (not sure that’s the way to go)

I am painfully self-conscious so in a way it will be good to just put myself out there. The worst thing that could happen would be no one caring about what I have to say or get silly comments from trolls. And I have people in the “real” world that are interested in my opinions so, it’s not so bad. And it would make me write more often.

I started my own blog today. Only wrote a few lines but I feel I am on the way to being web savvy. The first step in completing my 23 steps web 2.0 technology learning. I think this may be the perfect outlet for me to vent my feelings on life etc. I can be happy or sad, intelligent or not. I can be me!!

I’ve always wanted to make my own blog but never got round to it. I joined 43things today and that gave me motivation. So far it’s been fun and I would recommend at least giving it a go!
