Over the next couple of months, I’m taking advantage of some free business consulting services provided by the government and organizations that help tech start-ups to explore the idea. Heading off to a workshop this morning. This particular one I think will be very superficial and probably annoying, but on the other hand, I am so clueless I might learn something even if it is. After nearly a year of mind-breaking work, my company has finally put the finishing touches on a new online business infrastructure we call 3c|Platform. My primary job is interface design with some .NET programming, but am currently compelled to do a little promoting and marketing myself. This is relatively new to me so I thought it might be worth saying something here.

I might be going out on a limb but I’m excited that we’re launching.

(so you know, 3c|Platform allows businesses to pick and choose a wide variety of online options for our enterprise automation system to a social networking platform to basic content management).

I’ve had this corporation in Minnesota for many years now in order to support my various extra-curricular pursuits. The question is, shall I develop this is a brand or should I continue to just get gigs by word of mouth?

I have fantasies about leading teams of people all developing my ideas, but I’m not sure if I want to invest the capital in order to support hiring people, developing a logo, and all of this.

I guess it all depends on how serious I want to be…

Well, I published and sold several copies of my software, but within minutes, it was pirated and posted on an Internet file-sharing server (e-mule.com?).

So I was immediately pirated. Oh well. I’ll take that as a compliment. I guess my software was both worth paying for and worth pirating.
