cathibethMy husband and I
met when I was 19. I had graduated from college and was working at the chiropractic college that he was attending. I felt that I was too young to settle on just one person in my life, so I tried very diligently to fix him up with a sister of mine for two months. He was my buddy, my friend…
I was doing my laundry in the laundry room with a couple of beers under my belt (I know, I wasn’t of age) when I decided that I’d like to explore where a relationship between the two of us would go. He walked in, talking and asking about said sister.
Remember the beer… I was feeling quite confident when I told him to be quiet and that I was tired of hearing about my sister. I would much rather hear about the two of us. We went on our first date two days later. Best decision I ever made.
We’ve beaten the odds, especially considering my age at the time. We have our ups and downs, disagreements and arguments. Our happy times are so much more though, where we just laugh, or smile, or sit together.
I am lucky and I am thankful. 7 years ago
