Just ordered the Arduino Diecimila, based on the Atmega168 AVR, and am planning on having buckets o’ fun. I have one main application now and that’s a BMS for lithium batteries(But that’s a project that’d come into actualization possibly 1-5 years from now when I might order some lithium EV batteries for my future electric tricycle-”motorcycle” car.), but I may put that on hold because it seems the current solutions existing are about as simple and effective as you’re going to get. However, if expense is no objective, I might just build my own as I can configure how I want to but, then again, I may just be satisfied with whatever pre-existing products. I just want to understand what’s going on so I can understand the process by which any errors would introduce themselves.
Also, the microcontroller could be used for SO many other things. Right now, I think I’m just going to have a computer process sensory data that would be wirelessly transmitted and have the microcontroller be used to recieve wireless commands for whatever actuators.
