This was a pretty good little story, and I understand that a lot of people think it’s Conan Doyle’s best Holmes story. But I just couldn’t get that into it. Maybe because Sherlock was gone for such a large portion of the story. I enjoy him a lot more than I enjoy Watson. I’m just sayin . . .
How to read all of Sherlock Holmes
How I did it: I read through all of the stories over the course of about three months. They're a quick read, and any one story can provide entertainment for a few lunch breaks at work.
Lessons & tips: No particular tips, though, on a less related note, I will heartily recommend the Kindle.

Just read “The Naval Treaty” and “The Final Problem” this morning. “The Final Problem” is, of course, the last story in Memoirs, the famous one where Sherlock Holmes meets his match in Professor Moriarty and ends up dying at Reichenbach Falls. I thoroughly enjoyed the last story.
I am now 41 percent through the canon. Next up: The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Tonight, I finished The Sign of Four. I enjoyed it more than A Study in Scarlet: it was structurally more like the later Sherlock Holmes stories. Maybe what I like best about Sherlock Holmes is Dr. Watson. Next up: The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.
Just finished A Study in Scarlet yesterday. I remember trying to read that one in fifth grade and failing miserably. I did much better this time. It only took 3 days. (: It was a pretty entertaining story, but I could tell that Conan Doyle hadn’t quite gotten into the groove he gets into later.
It looks like The Sign of Four is next.
I read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and enjoyed it so much that I decided to read all his stuff. This weekend, using a gift card to B&N, I bought The Complete Sherlock Holmes, volumes I and II. I started A Study in Scarlet. I remember trying to read this one in 5th grade and just couldn’t get through. I’m making it this time tho!
my fiance got me the complete facsimile edition of the original illustrated sherlock holmes! its hardcover, big, intimidating but definitely thrilling (in all senses of the word). :) i’m that much closer to my goal. yay! now to start on it.
I finished! Today, at around 11:30 p.m., I finished the last case file in Sherlock Holmes, The Adventures of the Second Stain. I’ve already read the Hound of the Baskervilles and I’ve finished everything else this Christmas. Cool.
I’m more than halfway through The Later Adventures. I should finish before New Years!
I finished the first book in the two-book complete collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. The first book had A Study in Scarlet, The Rule of Four, and the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes stories. I’ve already read The Hound of the Baskervilles, which is in the next book, so all I have left are the thirteen Later Adventures of Sherlock Holmes stories. I’m enjoying the series much more than I expected. It’s been a great read so far.
I’ve finished the first two novellas and I’m well into The Adventures series. I’ve made it my goal to read to page 580 by the end of tonight and to finish both books by the end of the week.
