Recently I’ve always been waking up at 11:00 PM on non-school days(I know it’s late) no matter what time I go to sleep. I’ve slept from 10:00PM – 3:00AM and I haven’t woken up later than that, without trying to wake up to go to school. 4 years ago

Waking up without an alarm clock is one of the best things I’ve ever done. For an account of how I did it, see here. Good luck to everyone. 5 years ago

How you can program your body in such a way that it becomes used to waking up at the same time…good because you never have to worry about missing an alarm….bad because even if you want to sleep in on Saturday mornings- you wake up early! 7 years ago

Here are a couple of methods I use for waking up without an alarm clock:
- When you go to bed think about the time you want to get up in the morning, say 6 o’clock, thump your head against the pillow six times, then as you fall asleep repeat 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock etc to yourself. Surprisingly, this works. Not surprisingly it doesn’t work if you are either incredibly tired, or incredibly drunk.
- Sleep in a room which faces east and leave the curtains open. This is probably only convenient and comfortable if you live in a temperate climate, and don’t have neighbours looking in at you.
- Get a dog. Make the dog sleep outside your bedroom. In the morning the dog will stand outside your window, or outside your door and make “let me in” noises. This doesn’t work if you let the dog sleep on the bed. The dog will sleep as long as you do, if not longer. 8 years ago
