irieman is taking it one day at a time.
The idea of getting A.C.E. certified popped in my head a few months ago as a fleeting thought during a conversation with a friend of mine. Occasionally something reminds me that this is something I could probably do. Often while at the gym I see folks getting instruction by Personal Trainers and think “I could do that”. I’ve taken group exercise classes with instructors who, while they may know what they’re talking about, are terrible instructors (perhaps this is where my background in adult education could shine!). As much as I research Health & Fitness on a regular basis, I probably already know half the material. So, why not go for it?! perhaps the $150 for the class and $150 for the test, maybe? eek
Now, what to do with an ACE certification, I don’t know. The official ACE certificates are in the following areas:
- Personal Trainer
- Advanced Health + Fitness Specialist
- Lifestyle + Weight Management Consultant
- Group Fitness Instructor
- IAFF + IAFC Peer Fitness Trainer
I could probably do all but the last one, since I have no idea what that is. Must do more research.
