So my fiance purchased a Catholic study Bible for me and I have begun reading it. I didn’t realize how many extra books were in the Catholic Bible. But I have made a plan and if I can stick to it, I should have the entire Old Testament read by Dec. 27. Then I’ll start a new plan for the New Testament.
How to read the bible cover to cover
How I did it: Exactly one year before I made my confirmation, I decided to read the whole bible. It took a lotttt of commitment. And, to be honest, some parts were kind of not that exciting. There sometimes are pages upon pages tracing the lineage of one person to the next. It was a really great experience. One section of the bible really moved me, so I ended up deciding my Confirmation name to reflect it. I feel so accomplished to have done this. I would recommend it, but realize that it IS a big commitment and it takes some time. Worth it though.

I sort of put this goal aside for awhile. But I’m about halfway through the New Testament. I hope to finish it sometime within the next month.
I started reading the New Testament first with my new bible given to me for Christmas.

2 Tim 3:16, 17 – All scripture is inspired of God and benefical for teaching for reproving, for setting things straight for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

wow i am not sure of my faith right now but i think it would be interesting to get a perspective on the christian faith. i will keep an open mind. now i just need to make a plan and fumble through it.
Probably read it through skipping around, but its time to buckle down and read it straight through.

I read the Bible cover twice when I was a teenager. I just read a little bit every morning. It enriched my understand of Christianity tremendously – I’d definitely recommend it to any Christian, or anyone who’s interested in the Christian religion.
To non-Christians, I specifically recommend Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, the book of Matthew, and 1 Corinthians 13.
