mib7 is enjoying spring break
In the year to come, may you see more flowers, sunsets, rainbows, smiles, growing things, changes that make you happy, everyday miracles and magic.
May you give and receive more handshakes, hugs, pats on the back, kisses, back rubs, comfort, encouragement, respect, forgiveness, and wisdom.
May you be more comfortable with ambiguity, diversity, the unknown, the past and the future, generosity, making mistakes, and continuing to learn.
May you experience greater satisfaction, peace, connection, health, joy, sense of belonging, laughter, passion, hope, kindness, balance, and friendship.
May you find more time for yourself, your goals, your friends and family, and the things that matter most to you.
I encourage everyone to accomplish their things, but here’s some hopes and wishes that I found interesting and inspiring from the book mentioned in my previous entry (I put the book information below). I wanted to share some of them with you.
“1. Don’t let weeds grow around your dreams.
2. Make a habit of reading something inspiring and cheerful just before going to sleep.
3. Everybody deserves a birthday cake. Never celebrate a birthday without one.
4. Travel. See new places, but remember to take along an open mind.
5. When you really like someone, tell them. Sometimes you only get one chance.
6. When someone tells you they love you, never say, “No, you don’t.”
7. Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
8. Be faithful.
9. Be passionate.
10. Be committed.
11. Ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.
12. Don’t live with the brakes on.
13. Ask for advice when you need it, but remember that no one is an expert on your life.
14. Give generously.
15. Laugh loudly.
16. Love deeply.
17. Begin each day with your favorite music.
18. Reread you favorite book.
19. Accept pain and disappointment as part of life.
20. Never underestimate your power to change yourself.
21. Lie on your back and look at the stars.
22. Commit yourself to constant self-improvement.
23. Don’t waste time grieving over past mistakes. Learn from them and move on.
24. Take time to smell the roses.
25. Remember that life’s most treasured moments often come unannounced.
26. Do something everyday that maintains your good health.
27. Remember that loving words quickly heal.
28. Remember that cruel words deeply hurt.
29. Never be too busy to meet someone new.
30. Remember that you can miss a lot of good things in life by having the wrong attitude.
31. Celebrate even small victories.
32. Be happy with what you have while working for what you want.
33. Wage war against procrastination.
34. Remember that the more you know, the less you fear.
35. When a friend or loved one becomes ill, remember that hope and positive thinking are strong medicines.
36. Encourage everyone who is trying to improve mentally, physically, or spiritually.
37. Remember that almost everything looks better after a good night’s sleep.
38. Be gentle with the earth.
39. Spend your time and energy creating, not criticizing.
40. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
41. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
42. Take lots of snapshots.
43. Spend your life lifting people up, not putting people down.”

I hope your year is full of…
passion, contentment, pleasure, deliciousness, hope, gratitude, forgiveness, pride, serenity, upliftment, joy, exuberance, warmth, and kindness.
I wish you a year with lots of…
hugs, kisses, embraces, pats, carreses, nustles, squeezes, cuddles, snuggles, stroking, loving glances, soft words, fondling, rolicking, tickles, and laughter.
I hope the year brings you…
excitement, gorgeous sunsets, chocolate, laughing children, time with nature, fantastic wine, late nights with friends, wild dancing, sunlight on your arms, joyous music, massages, and flowers.
This year, I hope you…
live your passions, have the love of family and friends, do many kind things for strangers, friends, neighbors, and children, find your work fulfilling and enjoyable, have enough money to spend on food, your passions and your friends, and experience awe.
This year I wish you all the best things in life
Warmest wishes,
Saafir
This thing reminded me of a book that I read a couple of years ago called The Complete Life’s Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. Most of the stuff listed in the book are things that people might want to accomplish in life (similar to this site). I dug up the book from my personal library yesterday and I skimmed through some of the pages and I came across number 43. There are some things listed in the book that the author wanted to emphasize, so he made them in big font and dedicated one page to the thing…number 43 just happened to be one of those things (pictured above). I’m going to look through the book again and share other things that I found interesting.
I’m very excited about the new year coming up and I’m hoping that I’ll be able (as well as everyone else) to finally stick to my (or their) new year’s resolutions with the use of this site. Most of the people whom I’ve encountered on this site are very supportive! Thank you! I hope that everyone will be able to click “I’ve done this” on more of their things in the near and distant future. Happy New Year!

I hope you can accomplish ALL of your goals and set new ones that take you to further heights…whatever they may be!
Cheers to you all – and may you all have wonderous success, however you may define it, in the coming New Year!
Be happy. Enjoy the moment, even if it isn’t what you wanted or expected. Strive for what you want and be content with what you get.
When you’re sad… lean. When you’re happy… share.
Take time to spend enough time enjoying the quiet. Appreciate what appreciates you. Take nothing for less than it is worth.
Be healthy. Accept yourself. Enjoy yourself.
Create. It doesn’t matter what, but create. Let that positive energy flow out. You get it back three fold.
Don’t let negative energy surround you. Defeat it by starting within yourself.
Say damn once and thank you a thousand times.
Be sincere.
Even if you don’t agree with anothers view point or belief, respect it.
Laugh.
Enjoy.

ideas from Nina’s list:
Be kind to the elderly and make time for them
Help others realize their potential
Take time out to recharge
Know that everyone has something to teach me
I am always learning, and unlearning
See the magic in ordinary things
Pause to appreciate beauty * (I remember when I dated Arlan, we were on campus and he stopped to see and smell the flowering trees~ in spring, I asked him what he was doing…and he said “Smelling the flowers, they are beautiful. They remind me of home.” He was from Trinidad)
