Practice pranayama daily

This is the next step 3 months ago

Having marked my goal to cultivate breath awareness complete, I think this is the natural next step in going deeper into my spiritual practices. Pranayama is supposed to have profound effects when practiced regularly, but like meditation, I have difficulty remembering to do this outside of yoga class. I have experienced such profound effects from just learning to focus inward and be aware of the breath, and from learning to deepen the breath in times of stress – and I know I have just scratched the surface of this ancient practice. I believe that many challenges in my life will improve with the daily practice of meditation and pranayama!

I am already pretty good at using the three part breath, ujjayi breath, and interrupted/ extended inhale/ exhale to reduce stress, relax, fall asleep, re-energize, and focus during my yoga practice and throughout my daily life.

For this goal, I particularly want to focus on daily practice of one or both of the following techniques:
  • Kapalabhati
  • Anuloma viloma

Been doing this 3 years ago

I’ve been doing this everyday since the last post and plan to stick to it.

Supposedly powerful 4 years ago

A little time spent doing pranayama is supposed to have profound effects. Let me start today. Although it is afternoon already, but let’s get the ball rolling.

There are two 4 years ago

Kapalabhati – which I do on and off.
Analoma Veloma – which is breathing through alternate nostrils.

I have to do them in the daily morning yoga/stretch on a regular basis: atleast 5 mins.
