this was a great goal, but 3 years ago

i have stopped drinking! this goal was my favorite for a long time. i loved searching the shelves for a new selection. i loved the first sip. mmm! but this semester i have the fantastic opportunity to be really healthy. i’ve always been slim, but not always in tip top shape. i’m taking a weight-training class, as well as yoga. this means i’m working my body every day of the week. i have tailored what i eat so most of it is health-conscious (i gots to have my froot loops!) now i have to spread that same healthy attitude to every aspect of my life. three cheers for health!

tried this holland import last night. it’s certainly a tasty brew, but i think i’m in a rut. i need to break out of this belgium/holland sixer and dive into the options of a different area.

tried this two nights ago. it certainly was not bad, but just a little tasteless. it had a nice bite to it; the same bite you get from the first sip of corona. however, i just couldn’t detect any real taste. the nearby market has a good selection of foreign beers. oh, and i also tried shiner bock. it’s not a foreign beer. in fact it’s texas-brewed, but it’s tastey nevertheless. i recommend it.

one down, lots to try 3 years ago

tried Chimay Blue (belgium) tonight at twain’s in decatur. plus, got a tip to try tusker (kenya). i like this goal.

BEER! 3 years ago

I do love a tasty beer. I can’t remember all the different ones i’ve tried so far (i wonder if that’s because i’ve tried so many so far?), but the ones that stand out are:

Belgium: Chimay (Blue), Duvel
Mexico: Sympatico, Pacifico
Brazil: Brahma, Skol
England: Newcastle (best beer in the world!), Bass, Boddington’s
Ireland: Guinness, Murphy’s Stout
Argentina: Quilmes

that’s about all i can think of for the time being. will post more as i try and or remember.

i’m really enjoying beers from belgium, germany, ireland and china. i’ve also tried beers from holland, italy and mexico. so here’s a list of my fave foreign beers in rank of how often i drink them:
1. harp (ireland)
2. stella artois (belgium)
3. warsteiner (germany)
4. peroni (italy)
5. corona (mexico)
6. hoegaarden (belgium)
7. tsing tao (china)

if you’d like to recommend an addition to this list then feel free! the goal is to try some new ones so bring on the suggestions.
