I’ve decided to just have a show at the college I attend. It’s not a major show, but it is my first solo show, I’ve contacted newspapers and art magazines in Cyprus, so I’m hoping it goes well.

Tomorrow I have planned to take picture of my current work and email galleries in Cyprus info about my work and pictures, I will also look into having a solo show in my hometown when I return to the states. I’ve been waiting for galleries to magically contact me, so I think I should get things started, I may bring along some business cards while I’m in Florence and London in April and network with a few galleries there.
Ryanandtheseideals ersity application and leave City College!!!
My friends in the Philippines, who graduated from my University, probably already did this. I can ask them for advice about how to stage a really good art show.

I don’t have much to my portfolio so I will have to spend quite some time building that.
I actually went to school for art, and yet I can’t get myself to make art right now. I always feel that my art is not ready to show. I don’t care what people say about my art, just as long as they look at it. But I feel that it has to be just right, just for me.

Started a new painting today. A bit of a pop art look to it which is not like me, but I’m excited. It is watercolor and it taking longer than I thought because of the composition. I’ll see. I think it will be interesting. If nothing else, it has me back in my studio and that is a good thing.

I had a group over to the house tonight to meet and they were all amazed by my paintings and drawings I have framed on my walls. And all thought I am insane for not doing a lot more and selling them. sigh.
By the time I get home from a full day at work, I’m just exhausted. I’m going to have to start carving out some weekend time I guess. I really do need to do this. I know it. I just don’t do it for some reason. Maybe I’m just afraid I’ll make a big pile of paintings and no one will want them. And it will feel like no one wants “me.” And I live that already in my love life, lol!
My goal is to have a solo show next year preferably on my birthday. I turn 21 next year and I think it would be nice to have an art show and feel like I accomplished something, other than the traditional getting wasted.
