I halfway converted my Mom from a fanatical Republican to a moderate left-thinker with some remaining right-leaning values. It ’s a long process, as most Republicans are taught to never question how they believe: but when you constantly and consistently point out the lies and deception, eventually they have no other choice but to believe that they may have been decieved after all.
Have a lot of patience if you’re going to attempt this, and try to be pleasant about it: Republicans tend to have a lot of false pride, and will recoil if it is harmed. Try to show them the error of their ways in a sympathetic and concerned manner rather than in an arrogant manner.
