How I did it: 1. I procured a copy of this book from my local bookstore.
2. Each morning prior to going to work I read it for 30 - 60 minutes.
3. I read it each night as I went to sleep.

Resources: I read the translation which features cover artwork by Picasso. I don't remember the translator's name.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE GETTING AN UNABRIDGED COPY. There's all sorts of imposters floating around!

Two months later and I am only half-way through… This is mostly due to having been away for nearly a month, and several other distractions. What little bit of time I’ve spent reading it lately has been enjoyable. I understand from this point in the story it becomes more philosophical.

...reading the Edith Grossman version of Don Quixote. Two previous starts have gotten me to P. 100 and 150.
I really don’t know why I haven’t stayed focused on it. I love the story after reading an extremely short version, and enjoyed the movie immensely. We wouldn’t have the word ‘quixotic’ without this piece of literature.
I do give up for now and the future I can imagine. Surely some will think this is worth it but after 4@#& pages, I realized that I had other things to do.

I got very far into the second book, and figured out that really, I’ve gotten what I needed. I’m moving on now.
I started this book during the summer, I would like to someday finish it.
What a truly amazing book. After 1050 pages (Walter Starkie translation) I wanted more. I was sad that the adventure was over.
I finished Part I this weekend. I’m leaving on an overseas trip to Israel and Germany on Saturday. I should have plenty of time on the plane to finish Part II.

Well, if I’d gotten the manuscript done before I had to leave for “vacation,” I’d be making progress on Don Quixote.
Oh, well.
At least the manuscript’s getting worked on….
I even joined a DQ support group.
But I’ve missed the last two meetings.
