i paid a small one!! 5 months ago
it was only seven bucks..
but it was one less bill i have to think about.
i have a huuuuuuuge stack of bill from my various procedures over the past couple of years. while i do have insurance, it doesn’t cover everything.. the list of procedures i’m currently paying for::
  • countless E-Room visits where i was misdiagnosed.
  • countless doctor visits where i was also misdiagnosed.
  • D&C
  • Ultrasound to diagnose gall stones
  • Scope to diagnose stomach ulcer
  • Gall bladder removal surgery
that all totals out (after my insurance paid) to about seven or eight thousand dollars. which i know.. some people are way more in debt than i am.. but still… my bills depress me::
so.. i’m paying them in order from the smallest to the largest.. hopefully i can get them pretty much sorted out soon!

1,300 for tripping up the stairs and having to get 4 stitches. I didn’t qualify for assistance. I have no insureance. I can’t afford much but $10 a month.

I only have about $370 left on mine and $950 on my cat’s vet bills. Hopefully I’ll be done with mine by the end of the month and Jack’s by July.

Any ideas short of filing for bankruptcy?

After receiving advice from a co-worker at the mortgage company, I’ve decided not to tackle this one. My main motivation was to improve my credit score so when it came time to buy a house we’d get a better interest rate. Turns out lenders don’t take medical debt into consideration so it won’t be a problem. And besides, most of it will start dropping off my credit report next year. So unless they start contacting me, I’m not going to seek them out.

charge 'em for the lights, extra for the mice, two percent for looking in the mirror twice 2 years ago

Well, I just got off the phone with a nice bill collector who said that this one hasn’t been reported to a credit bureau… yet. We set up a payment plan of $15 per month, which doesn’t sound like much until you think about the fact that I’m making minimum wage at one of my jobs and the other one has very few hours per week.

In happier news, my mother and I combined forces this weekend to pay off one of the smaller ones, a leftover from a bigger one that my insurance refused to cover all the way.

This is done.

The entire $565 balance is paid in full.
