My new cruiser. 2 years ago

Well, after the pressure of realizing I needed a bike ASAP to start my triathlon training, I delayed no further when I saw an ad for a 70’s schwinn cruiser that had been converted into a 10 speed. I thought it would be fabulous to cruise around cap hill on my pretty vintage bicycle, and have the benefit of getting that much closer to my triathlon. Wellllll, while I love it, I certainly cannot do a triathlon in a cruiser, no matter how many gears. This frame is heavy! And slow! And while I love it, and will certainly use it for errands, racing will have to wait until I get something a litle lighter.

This sunny spring weather 2 years ago

is really making me want to go on a long ride. I need to so some serious bicycle searching. I had hoped to get one over the winter, when the prices would be good. Oh well, better late ….

and that is how we got around in town. We biked everywhere. The city eventually put in bike paths and signs but I remember riding beside the cars, a little dangerous but that is how we did it growing up. I bought a new expensive touring bike but I haven’t had much time to ride. Hopefully this summer I can put in 500 miles.

I will get a bike. Maybe after christmas I an find a good sale on a touring bicycle. I still need to fix up my old mountain bike and get it sold.

The thing is, I used to have one. A great one. But my mother is this compulsive cleaner who rips our house apart every spring and if you aren’t home to defend your stuff it gets chucked, sent to charity, or sold at a yard sale. My bike got sold. To my cousin. It then got stolen and I haven’t had the money for one since.
The other thing is that Halifax is really really hilly so I’ll need to get into training.

I’ve decided on a bicycle. Now I need to clean up my mountain bike and sell it. Then I can get a nice touring bike. I’m really not a “guts and rocks” bicyclist. I prefer long rides in the countryside on paved roads.

Actually, I have a bicycle but I don’t ride it. I don’t really like the bicycle. I need to fix it up and sell it. Then I could buy a touring bicycle. The one I have now is a mountain bicycle, but I don’t really go off road with it. If I had a touring bicycle it would be lighter, and the frame would be proportioned better for hauling stuff.
