graphic design

I have a family full of lawyers.. the fact that i really dont want to be a professional is outrageous to them.. however.. im thinking interior design or graphic design.

Im pretty sure ill go through school after i get my degree in business.. itll be another 4 years down the road [im a sophmore]

i want to start practicing now.. anyone thats going through school can give me kind of an idea for assignments and whatnot.

or if there is anything you can tell me about being a graphic designer and what a typical day looks like.

I used to be a Graphic Designer, and then I started working for family and gave it up. But, my love for graphic design kept me doing it on the side. Now, I started up Rae of Hope Designs – “Spreading Hope Through Charitable Giving.” Half my profits are donated to various charities around the world. So now, I work with a steady income, get to do what I love on the side – and feel good about myself when I invoice a job and donate the proceeds… :)

interesting how unreliable people are out here. did some work and never got paid for my time. basically gave her everything she needed-software, fonts, taught her the basics of graphic design. project was dropped. she got paid and I didn’t see any of it.
Now doing freelance, have a book and disk of AIGA contracts. Working on some snowboards, flyers, posters and just got a job offer for branding and advertising.
Still not making enough to pay the bills.
Have no one to guide me through this- trial by fire.
gotta love it.

Met a woman while I was printing out some of my work and now I’ve been hired as a freelance graphic design partner. I’ve got tons of requests from people all over town and all of the requests have been really cool fun projects, stuff I can get excited about. Going to file a freelance business with the IRS this week so I can write off some expenses. pretty exciting and right out of nowhere!

I want to learn how to design ebook cover because i’m an internet marketer and in order to sell my products, i have to design the cover package manually without having to hire graphic designers each time my new product is really to be launched.

Its strange that when people want to help you they can sometime be a hinderance
Finding your voice is a personal thing.
Expression is personal and relational.
Its how you relate to God and the world.
people who try to force their way into the process because they have no personal direction, are dangerous.
BUt giving love to them is the best way to get them back on track so you can refocus

(I was born in Nancy, France.) It seems like a lot of folks may be scared to Travel to Europe or anywhere for that matter for a number of reasons. I went back home in 03 for my cousins Wedding, but it to me has not changed. The atmosphere is still the same, fresh bread in the morning, plenty to visit and see.
