Marry Katie Melua

I`ve gone off her. I thought the last record was poor.

It`s always curious to speculate what makes you go off a crush.

For me it`s the discovery of a person`s ordinariness, their mediocrity. You can`t put them on a pedastel any more.

Katie`s innocence is apparant from the womewat worthy themes of one or two of her songs.

It`s a primary School Teacher`s worthiness, and quite charming, even if, as in the song `Spiders Web` it makes one wince.

I do think that, as life takes its toll on her psyche, Melua will become a more interesting singer, though possible a less likable human being. The melanchly will be replaced by bitterness.

I think what is so lovely about Katie is her air of innocence.

She tries to conceal this by dressing like a biker but I`m not fooled.
