Ohkayyy sooo the reasons for wanting to make myself over may not be the best. I want to do this to get back at a friend who just out of the blue decided not to be my friend anymore. Long story. Yeah, anyway every single time I get back at some one it always makes me a better person which is odd. Anyway I just want to improve myself, since we have the same name and act the same and usually dress the same, some people say we even look the same. Ohhhkay anyways here is my check list:
dye my hair red or blonde (or maybe black?)
work out and get super duper toned
get taner
grow out my hair
clear my skin
update my wardrobe
stop biting my nails
get better at make up and go crazzy
be more “exotic”
I feel that If I become a better person then she’ll regret everything she has said and done, but mostly I want to do this for me. I finally want to feel good about myself and stop worrying about what other people think about me. :) 2 years ago

& have added a couple of individual goals too.
I’ve made a huge change in my life yesterday by resigning from my job & shifting my focus. I’ve also done lots of smaller things since I’ve had this goal & a lot of thought processes have also been related.
I’m feeling like I have a new lease on life & to me that is what a make over is all about.
I also work on my self improvement so this is more like a life habit but I think the essence of this goal was the ‘dramatic’ aspect of my change. 4 years ago

I half did my hair cut. Got the trim & a few layers done… then went & hada cup of tea. What a scatterbrain!
I plan to cut a few more layers in soon, might wait till I’ve henna’ed it this weekend ;)
Aside from that I have my boots and am now TALL. Ish.
A few of the other more mental & personal aspects of this goal have had a bit of progress as well. At least one room of our house should see improvement now that we have a plan. Yikes, the kitchen! 5 years ago

I am having an uber facial followed by a hair cut a la Lunacy. Yes, I always cut my hair myself pretty much & am just putting in some layers, leaving the length alone :)
I didn’t plan for a hair re-vamp as part of this goal but it is one prone to evolution.
Still working on the head. Been doing to much time with Caffeine… 5 years ago

So I went out at lunchtime & just decided to spend $100 on new, fresh clothing. 2x pure Merino tops, 1 black, 1 purple & 1x purple sparkly shrug & 1x black top that is semi Victorian influenced & warm & flattering of the boobs haha.
It was fun & kind of needed. I just hope that the tops are as warm as I am hoping they will be. I need to stop wearing the same hoodie over & over!
I do need to get sewing & make some skirts. I find that tops are easier to buy & skirts mostly easier to make IF you can find nice fabric!
I think though that when my boots arrive (they’ve shipped) I will be feeling like a whole new lady, skirts or not!
This sounds so materialistic but it really is well overdue, I rarely spend money on clothes for myself. 5 years ago

I’ve been thinking about this goal a lot this morning & it is actually SO much bigger that I ever realised when I set it in motion.
This goal interrelates with my spirit & my relationship with my self. & there is truly so much that I can work on. This goal & “Nurture my Spirituality” kind of go hand in hand.
I’ve got a lot of introspection to do. & writing. 5 years ago

I read a blog about fears around being ‘different’ & this particular person had felt trapped by those fears consciously or not for 35 years. They are realising that they cannot live like that anymore & that a complete reinvention of the self is necessary.
I feel a little like this, though I’ve often been ‘different’ from my peers & certainly am from my co-workers.
I feel like I put unnecessary limitations on myself at times. In the last year I’ve learned the grande lesson that anyone CAN do anything that they want. But then I wonder why I work the job I do through the day still which I guess is like a holding pen til I have the resources & the clarity to do something new. I’m not sure… I’m not sure yet what I ultimately want to do.
Slowly I will chip away, as we all do, learning & removing all that is not me. I feel like personal evolution is more about uncovering rather than adding layers to oneself.

I’ve finished the hair category, just have to maintain it & have nearly finished my clothing section.
I’ve stopped daily to-do’s at work so need to get back into that… I’m not really looking for a new job right now anymore with the developments that are occurring where I am.

Yay, today I was gifted a little pair of boots that will tide me over until my new boots come from Europe. It was a very kind thought as they did not fit the person who gave them to me. I think I can almost safely throw away the worn out shoes I’ve been wearing :D (terrible!)

I’ve not been focusing on this goal so much this week but:
1. Clothing; finish my goal to get rid of olde & buy new underwear, buy new hosiery for Winter, sew new skirts, sort out all my tops.
2. Hair; try to make an effort with new styles & remember to use my leave in conditioner, tie up in the Wind
3. College job; write to-do lists daily & stay aware of workload, not be afraid to look for something new.
4. Footwear; get doc 20ups repaired & buy 1 pair of ethically produced work shoes & 1 pair of ethically produced sport shoes
5. Face; nuture more often, buy new face masque & cleanser when it runs out soon. Start using rosehip oil again. Develop my own (EDIT NEW) make up style.

So I’ve been thinking a lot about my job & am still in a bit of a funny spot mentally but have had a quick chat to my boss. I think I can mark off my goal of defining my career path though we do plan to have a proper meeting about it this week.
There are a few little things I can get done this week for this goal.
I’ve also been working on sewing a skirt that needs a mend/upgrade. I hope to finish this through the week. 5 years ago

So I think over time this goal will change slightly.
I’ve now got buy 2 pairs of ethically produced work shoes/boots instead of one. I’ve got the boots sorted though I have to wait 1-4 weeks for delivery. Today I’ll go out on a shoe hunt!
Today I:
Have different hair! a small braid each side of the head fixed at the back. :)
My 2nd pair of purple legs, plain purple over the knee stockings.
I shall get two new pairs of small holed fishnet tights & try to keep them in good order for work. I don’t mind character rips & holes on other occasions but for work they should look tidy.
I really want some new black eyeshadow & some new light coloured eyeshadow for highlighting under my eyebrows. I used to have both but I used up my MAC pigment “Frozen White” (Love that stuff) & left my black in New Plymouth in Summer & haven’t replaced it yet! I miss wearing both those things :)
Yay more fun. 5 years ago

Some things have got better & some have slid back.
I still need to get new work footwear since the shoes I bought cheaply 2nd hand did fall apart! I plan to look tomorrow lunchtime which seems like my next available opportunity. Last year I wore my doc marten boots all Winter & while I do like them I think I want something different for this year. So I need to decide, shoes or boots first up?!
Today I am trialling purple tights with large fishnets over the top. I thought I had a pair of good small holed ones but I put them on & they had big holes in the legs where they shouldn’t! So I need to pick up a couple of pairs of those (a good staple in my Winter wardrobe!) & they would look better with the purple since the purple have a pattern too.
Nails remain a bit neglected. I put this down to the fact that I used to be an art student & any effort to look after my nails was quashed by paint, pencil, arty stuff in general.
My College job is calming down & I feel like I have a plan for tackling my workload so that is a good thing. I’ve had a re-think in terms of my business too which has given me a great sense of relief & peace.
Our elevator broke down so we are all taking the stairs which I think is GREAT for the people in my office! I have no excuses now & while I’ve almost always taken the stairs anyway, I would take the lift on occasion if I felt tired or had heavy bags.
Also, we’ve started hiking!
& I’ve been working on my insides, getting some personal journal writing done which has helped me a lot.
This goal is really great fun & I’ve learned a lot from it. 5 years ago

but still working on this!
- I’ve started using a rinse out conditioner & it is working beautifully. I’m still going to use the leave in at the midpoint between washes :)
- I’m going to have to buy another pair of work shoes… the pair I bought did fall apart already, you get what you pay for!
- Did eyebrow & facial last night, must make this a Sunday habit!
- Finally have something to report for my body aspect of this goal, a nice long day of walking on Saturday through trees & bird life.
I received a fair few compliments last Thursday on my hair & my appearance as I made an effort with a small braided & tied up look & dressed formally yet still very much in my own style for an important meeting.
The major priority for me now is to get both formal & casual footwear sorted. 5 years ago

I am so happy, my hair is showing signs of calm since I’ve been taking a bit more time with it :D
But I’ve come to acknowledge that the shoes I bought may not last too long, I bought them 2nd hand (they were very clean, I think the previous owner just found them uncomfortable) & got a them at a steal but they are starting to show signs… I think they were pretty cheaply purchased in the first place.
I’ve been enjoying my new socks, underwear & hosiery!
Been taking care of my skin better :) Still the odd bit of room for improvement.
I’ve decided to take up the goal of walking to Rivendell. I just need to get myself organised!
I’ve made a habit of throwing out unnecessary receipts right away, keeping my handbag, wallet & diary free from clutter.
The to-do list at work is working for me!
& I’ve been working on techniques to focus more internally than on external irrelevant distractions :D 5 years ago

This is little my little obsessive goal at the moment…
1. Looked at a few skirts, found things to replicate ;) Will take a look at hosiery tomorrow.
2.Got my new facial products, bought one of those little travel packs that gives you a little of a cleanser toner & moisturiser so that will last me a while methinks. Also bought lush masque, mmm.
3. Finally got my diary sorted, cleared out handbag & wallet post shopping. Just need to maintain the habit.
4. Had a great time with my friend talking & we touched on the breakup but it all went very well. She bought it up & said what she wanted, I made sure she knows we are there for her.

I want to keep this list at the front of my attention & as I’ve written 11/12 entries now it sits on the next page so…
Here’s my original list with italics for completed parts.
4. Footwear; get doc 20ups repaired & buy 1 pair of ethically produced work shoes & 1 pair of ethically produced ‘sport’ shoes
5. Face; nuture more often, buy new face masque & cleanser when it runs out soon. Start using rosehip oil again. Develop my own (EDIT – NEW) make up style.
6. Body; increase fitness – always take the stairs & get faster at it, go for longer bike rides, go hiking, take belly dance classes, do more yoga.

1. Yesterday my new shoes arrived! My partner is always so mean when I am expecting packages. I say “did we get any mail?” & he says “no” then later on I walk into the lounge & there is my package!! It’s kind a nice surprise though, I think that’s why he does it. I still fall for it too…
Anyway, I like my shoes very much & they make me feel much more well presented. They are black mary jane style with a nice big (I think 4 inch) heel. I used to wear 5 inch heels (yes perhaps I am impractical, I just love heels!) so it’s not a problem. Nice to go back to a more solid heel after wearing stiletto’s for the last wee while.
2. Hair: washed & conditioned & I even bought my brush with me so I can brush it out once it’s properly dried. I am considering buying a new conditioner today because I think that one that you rinse out rather than leave in works better for me.
3. Today I am looking to spoil myself at lunchtime. I’ve set aside a budget & know what I want to get. Most things are just replacements for things that have run out.
1x Lush mask – Brazened Honey – this is a good detox & no nasty chemicals
1x Trilogy Cleanser mmmm organic face wash (I use this now)
1x new moisturiser. Because I use stuff that has no preservatives they have a pretty short shelf life & I noticed that the best by date was the end of February… oops. It’s still seemed good but it’s time to replace.
Possibly new mascara.
4. Didn’t get my diary sorted last night due to a busy schedule but I shall get some of it done NOW & finish the rest tonight.
5. Tonight I am going for coffee with a friend whose recently parted from her boyfriend of several years. I think he is more messed up about than she is but I’ve never really spent time with her on her own before as I’m friends with both of them & it could be slightly delicate. It will be a good chance to show my compassionate side & to communicate well.
I’m really enjoying this goal, lots of little things to do each day :D 5 years ago

1. My clothing part of this goal is coming along. I’ve been ruthless & I am getting rid of 3 tops that don’t make me feel fantastic. I am putting them into the charity bin asap.
2. Caring for my hair, brushing & putting it in a tie when it feels windy.
3. College job: Currently just want to get through all my work & organise myself. Written a to-do.
4. The shoes I bought should arrive today. Need to sort out very soon some good walking shoes.
5. Body: My partner & I have decided to spend the next four Saturdays doing some intense biking & hiking!! This should be very good. Went for a bike ride last night too.
6. Broke a bad habit, through away my March train pass right away instead of letting it clutter my wallet. Made sure I did a little housework last night.
