While I am in Japan I want to climb on top of mount Fuji and watch the rising sun.
out of season-ness means this goal is being retired for the moment.
On Tuesday we climbed Nantai-san, which has left my legs sore for days. but the view was Amazing, and the top volcanic crumbled shale section left me reluctant to attempt fuji out of season just now.

When I read Amelie Nothomb’s description of the Hike of Mount Fuji in “Ni d’Eve, ni d’Adam”, I knew immediately that I would want to experience this some day.
Hi folks,
well i did what i said i was going to do.
iclimbed mount fuji , it nearly killed me but i did it.
it took 5 hours, but the sunrise was spectacular.
They say climbing is a search for grace.
I wannt to push myself to the limit- test my strength- hit the wall and go through it.
And I want to do this with someone special- my husband, my mom, my sister…
I climbed it on a totally unplanned excursion with my brother and sister. We were totally freezing cold and damp and hungry and had the best time. We did the overnight hut and it was a good time. Rush up to the top for sunrise in the dark in the morning. You get a view of the sun rising on the East and it is breathtaking. We were totally unprepared but had a great time. Bring a light fleece jacket, ear band/hat, light gloves, good shoes, extra socks, snacks, a camera and enjoy it!
