apologize to an old friend.

I have to get in touch with William and tell him how sorry I am for the way I treated in the past and then in the present again.

I did it over a drunk AIM message. It could have gone badly, but it didn’t. He was very kind about it, and returned the apology as well. I’m thankful that we are on speaking terms and that I can now look back at all the memories we made together without fear and bitterness, like I did for those two long years. While it’s obvious that we’re at too different of junctions in our lives to be as absurdly close as we were before, it doesn’t mean he isn’t a huge part of me. After all, we were inseparable for 8 years. We did a lot of growing up together. I’m happy that I can be at peace with our friendship.

I’m so sorry. I got caught up and lost in the new world I found, and I turned my back on the most precious friend I’ve ever had. I think of you every day, and I haven’t yet found the courage to call or write. Please forgive me. I lost part of myself when I lost you.
