How to plan our wedding

 "Planning our wedding was a wonderful experience, that had ups and downs, but overall wonderful."
How I did it: We had a destination wedding, and decided that we would hire wedding consultants to help us find vendors and coordinate details. However, we also kept track of everything possible (dates, colors, vendors etc), kept a blog for our wedding guests, and kept a budget and reviewed that often. We also had a box in which we could keep wedding details and items, so they would not get lost before going away! Lessons & tips: If you have a certain vision for your wedding, make sure you stay involved with the planning and get in writing the final details. We were involved with every step of the decision process, however, as we communicated with both owners, I believe, some detail was lost, as there were a couple things that we had indicated we wanted but did not happen. Resources: Plastic folder(s) to keep detail (budget, receipts, vendors, etc.) A box to keep all details and larger items together. Xcel spreadsheet to keep track of budget (savings, spent, money due, paid in full or not).

Not quite everything went as envisioned, but nothing awful happened and the day was extremely beautiful and happy!

We’re getting close and wrapping up the final details with our consultants. We’re close to being on budget. Very close. We’ll have to see how some permits pan out before seeing the final final numbers.
Next step will be to gather every bit together necessary for the trip as well as confirming all of our decisions!
:) I have to say, this probably could have been more stressful. We didn’t have nearly the number of decisions to make, just because we never really asked for more options than were provided to us.
What I did.

I went to this really cool resort and had views of the mountains, with a sit down with a few finger foods. I think that this is your special day and you should have what you want and what makes you happy. Trust me you will barely notice the food. You will only notice that you are perfect and are marrying the perfect person.

I love this idea!
A simple, square vase with about 15 white tulips in each. Have a blue ribbon around it with our monogram, just like in this picture!
In addition, I think it would look romantic to have little tea lights & flower petals around the centerpieces.

Just A Small Detail.

I have SO many ideas. I guess I added this goal so I could organize my thoughts on here! :)
This is just a small thing I want under the cake. I want either my Aunt or a family friend to monogram our initials (both our first initial and my “new” last name initial in the middle)in this tablecloth. It could be a sweet keepsake from our wedding.

Invitations are out and alterations are almost done (already had 2 of 3 fittings)! We’ve determined our lunch site and are just waiting on some more guests to confirm before planning that farther. :)

We’ve picked out our cake (cupcakes!!) vendor, hair/makeup, photographer, transport, music, officiant and of course site. We haven’t done so yet, but have to discuss what we want with the cupcake and hair/make up vendor. We are going to be working on lunch site next and florist as well. Still a lot of little stuff for us to do at home as well..alterations, invites, wedding bands, and more. I think we’ve made some great strides so far! :)

We finally selected a consultant to work with, and have been working out the details for the last couple of weeks. It’s been going pretty well :) We are doing a destination wedding,so there’s a lot that we are not able to be hands on with, but we are having fun with creating our save the dates and invites :)

I’ve been pretty stressed about this for a while now. We’re waiting on responses from potential ceremony locations and I was hoping for quicker responses. F is a little more relaxed about it, and I guess it’s only been a couple of days, but I would think that a rapid response would be more impressive to a potential customer.
