So I’ve narrowed down my list.
Once I get a job I will obtain one of these beauties.
Snake Plant-
I hate the name, but the plant is gorgeous. It has long leaves that stand up and is nearly impossible for me to kill.
Rubber Tree-
Again, it’s almost impossible to kill. However, this can get a little large. Right now that’s not a problem, but if I ever move the poor thing might just get left behind. Ever tried to move a ficus tree? I don’t recommend it.
Ponytail Palm-
The trunk is beautiful. It has a tiny trunk that forms out into a big trumpet on the bottom. The plus side is that the trunk holds onto the water and the soil needs to be kept relatively dry. So it’s super easy and would fit in with the Vegas air. Problem? This baby can get to 10 feet tall. If I don’t kill it by then, I’ll donate it to someone who needs a tall plant.
So I’m actually leaning towards the ponytail palm. I have a HUGE spot that needs to be filled.

I just moved back to Las Vegas into a condo.
I used to live in New England where the trees were plentiful and the lakes are plentiful. My younger brother whom I live with has ZERO decor and ZERO plants. Plants make a place feel more like home. 2 weeks ago

I wanted, a heartleaf philodendron described as “extremely easy to grow,” one of Lowe’s assistants started setting out plants on the discount rack. Of course I had to look and there was this Nephthytis, aka Butterfly Plant or Arrowhead Philodendron, marked down to just a dollar sooooo… I ended up getting them both. According to my research “Nephthytis is one of the few plants that can withstand mistreatment and still survive.” My kind of plant (pictured below).

It’s been almost ten months since I moved from a 3bdrm house to 1bdrm apartment and had to give away all of my plants, mostly outdoor cactii and succulents in need of sun and not much water. Now that spring cleaning is almost finished, I am feeling the urge to grow something again. Maybe a trip to Lowe’s garden section this weekend is in order. I’m thinking of a true house plant with broad waxy leaves, but if the flowers look good and one calls my name… we shall see what will be. 1 year ago
