visit Memphis

Memphis is such a great city and there’s so much to see. I’m planning on making a pilgrimmage of sorts there sometime next year. Maybe in the spring.

My girlfriends and I packed up and went to Memphis for the weekend after my birthday. First stop: Porky’s barbeque, which I must say is second only to the County Line in Oklahoma City. It was fantastic. The next day: Graceland. Wow. LOVED it! Just loved it. Elvis was the sexiest thing ever to put on leather pants. That night we went to Beale Street. I must say, I felt this was skippable. It was too crowded and too modern. It was like many other downtown club hang outs, I thought. Then we saw the Peabody ducks, which was big fun and ate at Huey’s. We drove past Sun Studio, but I’d been there before – I later remembered that part. For some reason, I went when I was in high school, but I didn’t remember it was in Memphis, not Nashville. Anyway, we had a blast!
