Although I’ve done this in years past I’m going to leave it as something I want to do for this year. The boy I kiss this year is the same I would have kissed last year if he’d been there at the stroke of midnight. This year I shall make certain he is. 5 years ago

And I’m not gonna wait 365 more days for it to come around again, as I’m not a religious/racial/cultural/ethnic minority that celebrates a different new year.

The crowd I ran with tonight was awesome, but not one that I could announce to “Yo, I have this goal to get kissed at midnight.” It just wouldn’t fly with them. And my friend Raisa left two hours early, for some reason. Ostensibly to avoid drunks. I did get a little peck on the cheek, but it was several minutes off of midnight, given grudgingly, and given passionlessly. So I’m not counting it. 6 years ago

Because a recent friend I was hoping (!) might want to spend some time with me today…and then, perhaps, on New Year’s…just reaffirmed his skittishness. If worst comes to worst, I can kiss my friend Raisa, though it won’t be the knee-trembling experience I had hoped for. Mostly because we regard each other as sisters, which would not be conducive to tongueing. Plus she’s just had jaw surgery and won’t be keen on opening her mouth. 6 years ago
