I was reading “Lit From Within,” and Moran had some ideas on posture that I hope prove to be revolutionary for me.
“[Good Posture] is not a matter of ‘Stand up, shoulders back, tummy in’ but rather ‘Walk proudly, breathe fully, and remember who you are.’”
When we think of good posture, she says, instead of thinking of a soldier, we should think of graceful… a ballerina, a village woman with a water jug on her head, a child who moves with joy.
When we remember who we REALLY are, we can’t help but stand straighter.

I read in Yoga Journal that maybe sitting on floors and not using chairs/couches could benefit our posture. Like sitting in half lotus, pigeon, etc. Really interesting. Maybe I should try it. The article is at http://www.yogajournal.com/practice/1228_1.cfm

I’m just trying to sit up staight when I realize I’m slouching. But it’s really tiring and my back gets sore when I sit up straight for a long time. Anyone else have this problem? I really want to have better posture so I don’t turn into a Quasimodo.
