Salsa dance

I am about to start salsa 103 and after completing salsa 101 and 102, I feel like I am really starting to love salsa.

I have let go of trying to get it ‘perfect’. My aim is to have fun and feel free on the dance floor!

This Thursday I will take a big step and move from dancing in class to going to a night club for social salsa dancing!

so i danced salsa the whole night with this really handsome guy. He was such a good dancer, it’s incredible and for me it was so natural and so easy to follow…oh the starry sky, the warm spring air, the beautiful soft latin music and this handsome man…it was just too much…we danced and danced and danced for like 3 hours, it was truely the most awesome salsa ever…and I am sooo looking forward to more and more and more of this…

Booked myself into an 8 week salsa dance course!

After having a horrible experience dancing with a forceful, creepy man, I was considering never salsa dancing again.

But, I think I will stick at this. My biggest problem is I don’t feel very confident with my dance moves anymore. The dance shoes I bought are too high for me as well (I’m not use to high heels and feel like I could topple over).

So my next action steps are:

1) To enrol into a beginners salsa dance course

2) To buy shoes with a smaller heel

3) To be easy on myself and not beat myself up for not being a brilliant dancer!

Went to my first lesson last night :)

Going to a salsa dance party tomorrow night with a good friend.

Looking forward to it. Even if I don’t end up dancing, listening to the music will be great!

yes! I did it. I went salsa dancing again and found my old dance partner.

Feels great to be back on the dance floor again :)

I used to love salsa dancing. It is one of my favourite things to do yet I only do it once every few months.

I guess a few things are holding me back…

I hate going by myself to these clubs (it can be a bit dangerous at night on your own) and my boyfriend thinks it’s sleazy and gets all insecure at the idea of me dancing with other men.

So I can’t really do much about my boyfriend, but I can find some friends to go with.

i feel like i cannot and should not make plans to go out to salsa even though i found an AWESOME place, el cid, to go to. i should sign up for school classes first, and complete something of substance instead of always wanting to…. have fun.
