    A Dream. 12 months ago

Ever since my brother and his wife came back from their Alaskan cruise and showed me the pictures, I’ve wanted to go. How beautiful it is up there! Now with my D90, I’m sure I could take a good picture or two.

    alaskan cruise 15 months ago

last time i tried to go on an alaskan cruise, we encountered plane problems and missed the first day and half of an already too-short timespan. this time i’d like to go for a longer time, to more northern areas, go on the excursions i want (more whale watching for sure. how exhilarating!), and i definitely want to sail thru more frozen (larger ‘burgs) than we saw lastime. i need to have my new digicam by then..

I went on a 1-week northbound Alaskan cruise, and it was without a doubt the best vacation of my life. I would highly recommend it. I loved the weather, had a ton of fun, and met some amazing people!

I just got back home from a 2-week Alaskan cruise, and it was AMAZING!

It was so Amazing! 18 months ago

We loved Alaska! We sailed round trip from Seattle and stopped in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Prince Rupert, BC. In Juneau, we took a helicopter to a glacier, which was just rediculously beautiful.

My favorite part of the week was when the ship sailed up Tracy Arm to the Sawyer Glacier – my husband and I sat on our balcony (bundled up, of course!) with our room service of hot chocolate and cookies and watched the amazing sites pass by.

    I highly recommend the trip!

We leave in just over a week! 19 months ago

We are excited! This past weekend, we went shopping and bought the last few things we need (raincoats were the big one on the list!). This upcoming weekend and the following week, we will pack and then we are flying out to Seattle next Friday – woo hoo! :)

Only about a month and a half until we leave! 20 months ago

We are now looking into booking our shore excursions and dreaming about our trip. We are going with another couple, which will be extra fun – we’ve never traveled with other people for a long period of time, so this will also be a new adventure! We are thinking of doing the White Pass Scenic Railroad in Skagway, and in Ketchikan, the Lumberjack Show and tour the Totem Poles. In Juneau we plan to go out on our own – take the $6 shuttle to the glacier and walk around on it. I have no idea what we will do in Prince Rupert – it seems like a really small town with not a lot of options. I’m really looking forward to it!

Had a family reunion on the boat, and it was fun, fun, fun! We had all kinds of activities: bowling, rock climbing, karaoke, and eating! The food was really good, and while I was there, the weather in Alaska was amazing. Everyone should go on an Alaskan cruise sometime in their life.

I would like to do this with my husband. No hurry, just want to do it in my lifetime.

I’ve been wanting to go on a cruise for some time now, and Disney just seems like the safest, most family friendly cruise line. The 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise sounds like the one I’d want to do…you start in Port Canaveral, FL, and cruise to St. Maartens, then St. Thomas and St. John, and finally Castaway Cay and back to Port Canaveral. I’d like to stay close to the U.S., at least for my first cruise, so this one sounds perfect! I’ve checked prices, and for January 2009 (during my school break), with air travel included, it comes to $4000 or so. That’s a lot of money for us right now…but we’ll see about the future. It’s something I definitely want to do!
